Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to erupt within the mouth. When they align properly, and gum tissue is healthy, wisdom teeth do not have to be removed. Unfortunately, this does not generally happen. The extraction of wisdom teeth is necessary when they are prevented from properly erupting within the mouth. They may grow sideways, partially emerge from the gum, and even remain trapped beneath the gum and bone. Impacted teeth can take many positions in the bone as they attempt to find a pathway that will allow them to erupt successfully.

Implants

Your teeth affect your whole body. When they’re healthy, you’re healthier too. A missing tooth can affect your bite, speech and eating choices. As you rely more on your remaining teeth, you increase the chance they will wear out prematurely, or be damaged or lost. You may also experience headaches and/or jaw pain.

Bone Grafting

Bone grafting can repair implant sites with inadequate bone structure due to previous extractions, gum disease, or injuries. The bone is either obtained from a tissue bank or taken from your own available bone stock. Sinus bone grafts are also performed to replace bone in the posterior upper jaw. In addition, special membranes may be utilized that dissolve under the gum to protect the bone graft, as well as encourage bone regeneration. This is called guided bone regeneration, or guided tissue regeneration.

Anesthesia

Our surgeons offer a full range of anesthetic options to fit your needs. Whether you need local anesthesia, intravenous sedation, or general anesthesia all our doctors place your safety and comfort as their highest priority. Practicing in a modern and safe environment with the anesthesia team model, OSA has set the standard for our community.

Major Jaw Surgery

Our surgeons are equipped with modern technologies and techniques to complete major jaw surgeries including Orthognatic Surgery and Cleft Lip or Palate. Orthognatic Surgery improves facial appearance and ensures teeth meet correctly and function properly. Cleft Lip and Palate needs can be addressed multiple times as a child grows. If you are a candidate, our surgeons will work closely with your dentist and orthodontist during your treatment.

Dental Surgery

From Dental Extractions to Impacted Canines, our surgeons use a variety of methods to perform essential procedures for your teeth. If a tooth is stuck, trapped, decaying, cracked, or showing periodontal disease, your dentist or orthodontist will refer you for Dental Surgery. These procedures maintain the longterm health of impacted and all surrounding teeth in your mouth.
